The Mohave County Board of Supervisors voted on two items that could financially impact the Bullhead City area.

The board approved a resolution to send to the Nevada governor and the Nevada Department of Transportation in opposition to two Nevada Legislature bills that would impose registration fees on Arizona residents or business owners who work at or operate a business in Nevada.

District 2 Sup. Hildy Angius, of Bullhead City, said the registration fees would be placed on workers, possibly on their cars, for those who commute from Bullhead City and elsewhere to Laughlin. The bills would apply to any neighboring county with Nevada.

The bills could have an adverse effect on financial commerce with Bullhead City. Many people who live in the Bullhead City area, Golden Valley and even Kingman work at the casinos in Laughlin and would be impacted, Angius said.

District 3 Sup. Buster Johnson of Lake Havasu City said the fees could go both ways with Clark County residents paying fees in Mohave County.
