Following a competitive national search, the Coconino County Board of Supervisors selected five finalists, one of which will likely become the next county manager.
The position was vacated when longtime county employee and former County Manager Steve Peru retired in November 2011. The candidate selected as county manager will oversee a $180 million budget and more than 1,000 staff.
In February, the County began a national search and received more than 50 applicants from throughout the country.
“The County Board of Supervisors and I are pleased with the caliber of candidates that applied to serve as our next county manager,” said Board Chairwoman Liz Archuleta. “Based on the quality and experience of applicants, we are confident our next county manager will be an effective leader who is more than capable to guide our county into the future.”
