Two Glendale leaders believe they have the best deal they can get from the prospective owners of the Phoenix Coyotes and on Wednesday called for a vote this Tuesday.
The move by Vice Mayor Yvonne Knaack and Councilman Gary Sherwood came just a month after National Hockey League executives introduced City Council members to a group of investors headed by Canadian businessmen George Gosbee and Anthony LeBlanc.
Officials had not posted a meeting notice by the close of business Wednesday. They could post the notice as late as Friday and still meet legal requirements, though city leaders repeatedly have stated that they wanted the deal in the public realm for about a week before a vote.
The hurried negotiations between Glendale officials and the investors, Renaissance Sports & Entertainment, focused on a use agreement for Jobing.com Arena, which the city spent $180 million to open for the Coyotes in 2003.
