Scottsdale horse sculpture in running for ‘favorite landmark’

It’s hard to miss the five 14-foot aluminum horses that guard the north side of Indian Bend Road between Scottsdale and Hayden roads.

Now, the prominent public-art piece known as “Water Mark” is a candidate to be the Eighth Wonder of the World.

The Scottsdale Convention and Visitors Bureau nominated the functional art piece featuring gargoyle-like horses in an online contest by VirtualTourist.com.
