Scottsdale Finance Director Lee Guillory will take over as acting city treasurer, replacing retiring Treasurer David Smith.
After a closed-door session, the Scottsdale City Council unanimously appointed Guillory as the city’s treasurer, who is also the chief financial officer. She will begin work July 5 with a similar compensation plan as Smith.
On May 9, Smith announced his resignation, saying he plans to retire.
Guillory told The Republic she plans to apply for the position permanently and does not anticipate naming an interim finance director.
