Who will manage a ‘divided’ Cave Creek?

On Monday, the incoming Cave Creek Town Council will vote on an interim town manager to replace Usama Abujbarah.

They will have six candidates: Rodney Glassman, Enrique Ochoa, David Richert, Tami Ryall, Clark Smithson and Patricia Sorensen.

The temporary replacement will begin work June 25 and end work no later than Jan. 8, with a base salary of no more than the equivalent of $112,000 annually.

Aside from the normal day-to-day duties of the town manager, the appointed individual will be expected to oversee an independent third-party audit of the town’s finances as well as oversee a process of selecting a permanent town manager.

The meeting is 7 p.m. Monday at Cave Creek Town Hall, 37622 N. Cave Creek Road.
