Harvey Krauss, the new community development director for the city of Eloy, has been busy as a bee making sure zoning ordinances are updated and reflect current needs and conditions in the city.
He said that requests and complaints aren’t necessarily an impetus to change ordinances. They do, however, give Krauss cause to look at the ordinances in question and determine if they need updating.
A recent complaint about beekeeping within the city limits brought to light that there was no ordinance to address the issue. The beekeeper who had questioned the code did destroy the hive that apparently had begun swarming.
