Final Coolidge general plan meeting focuses on environment

For the past seven months, Growth Management Director Rick Miller has been holding public meetings to get Coolidge citizens’ input into the various elements included in the upcoming general plan. The final of the planned meetings was held July 11 to discuss environmental issues.

The 2025 City of Coolidge general plan is being designed to make sure the city grows in a proper way for the next decade, organizing land uses, transportation, recreation and resource usage into a coherent plan to guide the city moving forward. Environmental issues are a looming factor in all those elements, making this a suitable topic to conclude the public session.

“We have to make sure that we are environmental stewards for this area that we are planning for,” Miller said. “That helps make this a city that people want to live in and to visit.”
