Dina HigginsDistrict 5 councilwoman Dina Higgins announced Tuesday that she was resigning her Mesa City Council seat as of Aug. 15.

She joined the council in 2008 and was re-elected in 2010.

Higgins cited the demands of her full-time job as a business development manager and the required weekly travel as reasons for her resignation.
