An effort is afoot to create a new land-use designation within Paradise Valley town limits allowing for the creation of a Continuing Care Retirement Community zoning classification.
The Paradise Valley Planning Commission July 16 discussed two applications seeking both a major General Plan text amendment — allowing the new zoning criteria to be created — and an amendment for a 4.34-acre parcel at the northwest corner of Scottsdale Road and McCormick Parkway.
The General Plan map amendment proposal sought on behalf of RED Group, LLC, seeks to change the land-use of the four-acre parcel from low-density residential to the possibly forthcoming CCRC designation, a July 16 Paradise Valley staff report states.
