Leaders of a new non-profit hope they can save the city’s only competition-certified, Olympic-size pool before developers replace it with new homes.
They launched Preserving Community Aquatics to find investors to buy the 10-acre property owned by Brophy College Preparatory, an all-male Jesuit school in central Phoenix.
In addition to having the city’s only competition-certified 50-meter pool, the property has a 25-meter training pool.
Gilbert-based Ryland Homes is in the process of buying the property. The developer wants to build up to 35 homes.
