Residents on both sides of the Glendale/Peoria border north of Bell Road were invited to a public meeting July 2 at Glendale Adult Center. As part of the process in its application for a proposal to amend a planned area development to allow two non-digital billboards along Loop 101 frontage, Rose Law Group hosted the meeting to obtain residents’ input. It is a requirement of city code that residents’ comments be part of the record.
Rose Law Group land use attorney Carolyn Oberholtzer said many of the residents had a misconception about the type of billboard and the proposed location sites.
“The proposed signs are to be located practically on the 101 freeway on the easternmost part of that site,” Oberholtzer said. “The meeting offered us an opportunity to clarify it for the people.”
Another misconception was that the billboards were to be digital.
