Swift Aviation paying $50,000 fine over employee’s ‘towelhead’ comment

When you’re at work, you might not want to say, “I don’t know why we don’t just kill all them towelheads,” especially when a fellow employee is Muslim.

I know it sounds like common sense, but Phoenix-based Swift Aviation Services Inc. is paying a hefty price for some of its supervisors’ inability to show cultural sensitivity.

Swift will pay $50,000 to its former employee Adam Donmez as a result of a settlement with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for numerous derogatory jokes about Arabs.
