The 60 Plus Association’s entrance into the solar debate might have seemed confusing at first, but as more information has become available, links point to the well-connected consultant Sean Noble, the Yellow Sheet Report said on Wednesday
A representative from Arizona Public Service (APS) told the ˆYellow Sheet” Noble has been doing contract consulting work for APS, but whatever Noble is up to isn’t being controlled by APS.
“We don’t tell him how to run his business,” APS spokesman Jim McDonald said. Noble has been linked to 60 Plus in the past, and his Center to Protect Patient Rights sent $11.6 million to the group in 2010, the daily political newssheet reports. McDonald said he wasn’t sure exactly what intentions APS had in contracting with Noble, but said “we hired him to perform certain services . . .I know that it’s not to go cause trouble.”
McDonald also said he disagrees with the highly politicized tone struck by the 60 Plus website and video ad launched last week. Noble did not return a request for comment. A spokesman from 60 Plus said he would try to get questions about the campaign answered, but no response was given by time of publication
