All six members of the Casa Grande Building Division have attained professional certifications, making the city one of just six municipalities statewide to have 100 percent of its staff certified by the International Code Council.
“Having certification shows that these staff members didn’t just get a job with the city, they have the experience and the knowledge required for the job,” said Dwight Williams, chief building official for the city.
Each staff member within the Building Division earned at least one certification through the International Code Council.
“Getting certified is difficult,” Williams said. “People have to have a broad base of knowledge.”
Taking continuing education courses and passing a test are among the requirements for certification, Williams said.
