The western boundary of Territory Square goes all the way to Plant Road; the eastern boundary goes all the way to Arizona 79.

So why doesn’t the southern boundary go all the way to First Street?

“I feel strongly that our property values could be reduced to half and that we are being redlined out of the prosperity” in favor of Scottsdale families, Lina Austin, a First Street homeowner, told the Town Council last week.

When it meets Tuesday, the Town Council could vote to approve the new Territory Square (TS) zoning district for more than 600 acres on the south side of the Gila River. Austin said she wonders if she and her neighbors will be looking over their backyard fences at a 10-foot wall and street lights.
