Maricopa leaders and Global Water officials have the same view after coming to an agreement over a proposed increase of water and wastewater rates on city customers.
“We didn’t get everything we wanted, but neither did they,” councilwoman Peggy Chapados said during Tuesday’s Maricopa Council meeting. “I think it’s a legitimate compromise.”
Council members unanimously agreed Tuesday to sign on to a settlement agreement that phases in rates over eight years and prohibits the water company from asking for another rate increase until May 2017.
