Negotiations over Kingman city manager contract collapse

KingmanBy Doug McMurdo | Kingman Daily Miner

Contract negotiations have broken down between the city of Kingman and John Michrina, who had been slotted to be the city’s next city manager.

The two parties were too far apart on a wide range of issues, said Mayor Janet Watson Tuesday night.

After meeting in executive session Tuesday, the council voted unanimously to rescind the offer to Michrina.

The new search for a city manager will start from scratch. Previously, the city contracted with the Arizona League of Cities and Towns to conduct a candidate search, but this time the application process will be handled in-house.
