Jeanine Jerkovic, economic development administrator for the city, whose specialty is business attraction, said there are a number of high-quality projects in the pipeline and a number of new construction projects in the planning stages.
“We’re still happy about Terminix coming to Westgate,” she said. “They’re taking up 32,800 square feet of office space on the third story of the east building of Westgate office center.”
Terminix projects it could hire as many as 300 for its Glendale office.
Jerkovic said the big Denver-based furniture store, American Furniture Warehouse, is coming in at Bethany Home Road on the east side of 99th Avenue and west of Loop 101. AFW paid $9 million for the 41.49-acre parcel from Stearns Bank, the firm that in 2010 purchased the property formerly planned for a mixed-use project called Bella Villagio.
