Pinal Supervisors approve 40-acre land purchase for Arizona City retention basin project

The county is expected to begin construction of a 40-acre retention basin at Battaglia Drive at Henness Road in NovemberBy Kayne Crison | Arizona City Independent

Last week Wednesday, July 31, the Pinal County Board of Supervisors, acting as the Flood Control District, approved the purchase agreement for the 40 acres of land just west of Arizona City critical for constructing the flood retention project along Battaglia Drive near Henness Road.

Supervisor Anthony Smith, representing District 4 which includes Arizona City and stretches from Maricopa to SaddleBrooke and the northern edge of Marana, first announced the project at an Arizona City Chamber of Commerce luncheon last April, saying that, “Public Works is working on a flood mitigation plan to address the drainage issues within Arizona City.”
