Don’t dismantle your home-security systems just yet, but Scottsdale has been named one of the nation’s safest cities, according to a Business Insider annual list and report Scottsdale, the report said, was the sixth-safest city in 2012 among American cities with populations exceeding 200,000.
Scottsdale earned the high ranking because it had fewer of the most violent crimes per capita than comparable municipalities, according to the Insider.
“Scottsdale … has a murder rate 71 percent below average; rape rate 26 percent below average; and robbery rate 55 percent below average,” the report said. Scottsdale officials were pleased with the news.
