Solar power takes center stage at Arizona International Growth event

Monarch Power Corp. CEO and President Joseph Hui donned his “Solar Man” outfit and drove his orange Tesla Roadster with its lotus flower-shaped solar panel to Arizona International Growth Group’s annual “Green, Global and Greek” luncheon Monday.

Hui wore his Arizona flag cape and brimmed hat to introduce the 50 or so attendees to his new alter ego as he pushes for solar and other types of renewable energy, such as solar thermal and natural gas.

“We are entering into a different paradigm for energy consumption and delivery,” said Hui, who also is a professor in Arizona State University’s electrical engineering department.
