Realtor and former Indiana administrator Todd Tande was elected to Surprise City Council after narrowly receiving more than 50 percent of the vote, according to the final tally from the Maricopa County Recorder.
Tande was up against former City Council candidate Randy Miller and former mayoral candidate Lou Provenzano to represent Surprise’s District 6, which is in the southeastern corner of the city.
When the preliminary results were released Tuesday, it was unclear if Tande had enough votes to clear the 50 percent-plus-one-vote threshold needed to avoid a Nov. 5 runoff.
