Tax official warns municipalities about online posting of budgets

ATRAInformation from the Yellow Sheet Report

Arizona Tax Research Association (ATRA) President Kevin McCarthy says his organization plans to push legislation next year to penalize cities and towns if they do not post their budgets online. He said there were 38 municipalities, including some “fairly large cities,” that are not in compliance with the law, but wouldn’t provide the list.

He also said he would like to see the law changed to require municipalities to have their own website where the information must be published.
