Two former Glendale employees fired in the fallout of an extensive audit of municipal financial practices plan to challenge their terminations.
Former Chief Budget Officer Don Bolton and former Assistant City Manager Horatio Skeete notified city officials this week that they want to appeal to a personnel board in accordance with city policy.
Both have retained attorneys.
The audit showed that top city administrators miscalculated the costs of an early retirement program enacted in 2009 and 2010, hid the true costs from the City Council, then inappropriately moved money from several municipal trust funds to cover the costs.
