Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne’s office has filed a consumer-fraud lawsuit against a mortgage loan-modification assistance company marketing itself to Spanish-speakers who want to modify home mortgages.

A civil complaint filed Sept. 12 in Maricopa County Superior Court accuses Phoenix-based Making All Homes Affordable LLC, its owner and manager, Albert Figueroa, and one of its salespersons, Steve Villanueva, of violating the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act.

According to the complaint, the company misleads consumers into thinking they will obtain principal and interest reductions on their home mortgages by using their program. In Spanish radio advertisements, Figueroa allegedly tells consumers that if they meet with a representative, the company will determine whether they qualify for a reduced mortgage.
