In a surprise move, the Corporation Commission today voted to close the electric retail discussion, but left open the possibility of opening other dockets to look into technological innovations in delivering electricity, news broken by the Yellow Sheet Report.
The decision was made after the commissioners received advice from its attorneys that electric retail faces constitutional impediments. The vote was 4-1 after Commissioners Bob Burns amended Commissioner Gary Pierce’s motion to close the docket to say the commission would open other dockets related to this issue at some point in the future. Burns voted against the modified motion.
