One of Scottsdale’s little neighbors to the north is poised to challenge the city’s claim as the “West’s Most Western Town.”
Cave Creek is known for its equine lifestyle and Western aesthetic. And now the town leaders are putting their money where their mouths are when it comes to town character — and the sham, they say, Scottsdale has become.
On Monday, the Town Council is expected to approve a resolution claiming to be the “West’s Most Western Town” instead of Scottsdale.
Mayor Vincent Francia said the Southwest has a history of settling disputes after a claim is made, especially, he said, if it’s a claim someone should be called out on.
The normally even-keeled Francia, who is a practicing Buddhist, said the challenge is not an idle threat.
