The last undeveloped residential property in Sun City could be changing ownership again.
The 27-acre lot straddling Sunland Drive east of 110th Avenue was planned to be the site of Sun City Manor when it was owned by NamWest. But delays in getting Maricopa County permit approval and the struggling economy the last several years have kept contractors away. The land is now owned by Sun City Acquisitions, a company listed on the Maricopa County Assessor’s Web site, www.maricopa.gov/assessor/, as being located in Wayzata, Minn.
However, the land is now in escrow with Nathan and Associates, a commercial and residential real estate brokerage firm based in Scottsdale.
“I can confirm that the property is in escrow, but I decline to comment on the transaction at this time,” said Casey Christensen, a Nathan and Associates representative handling the project.
The property is zoned residential and some of the infrastructure is already in place, although it may need updating.
