Valley Partnership is carrying out its mission of being the Valley of the Sun’s premier advocacy group for responsible development by teaming up with a local non-profit agency. One of Valley Partnership’s cornerstones is community service. Each year, Valley Partnership selects a non-profit organization that can benefit from the skills, efforts and supplies provided by its partners to renovate and enhance facilities for children and those in need. Over the past 25 years, Valley Partnership has contributed over $3.5 million to the community through these projects. For its 2013 Community Project, Valley Partnership has selected Save the Family Foundation’s Escobeda at Verde Vista Affordable Housing Development.
Save the Family Foundation of Arizona is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency based in Mesa that has been serving the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area for more than two decades. Save the Family and its partner agency, the Affordable Rental Movement of Save the Family (ARM), operate more than 197 transitional and low-income housing units for families in the East Valley. Save the Family and ARM provide housing and supportive services that help families overcome poverty and homelessness and achieve life-long independence. For information, visit www.savethefamily.org.
Escobeda at Verde Vista is a $29 million public-private partnership project with the purpose of providing quality affordable housing to vulnerable families. The development includes construction of 126 new units of affordable housing, and a new education and resource building to better serve Save the Family clients and tenants.
