Paolo Soleri’s influence stretches worldwide, but this weekend the architect will be remembered at the Arizona places he left behind.
A three-day celebration of Soleri starts today at Cosanti, his home and living workshop in Paradise Valley. It continues Saturday at his experimental container for design and environmental accountability called Arcosanti outside Cordes Junction and finishes Sunday at his namesake bridge in Scottsdale. Soleri, 93, died April 9.
Tonight’s event at Cosanti is sold out, and the Saturday concert and dinner at Arcocsanti, with space for 300, is almost sold out, as architects and those who helped build and support Arcosanti and Cosanti travel from as far away as Italy, France and Japan.
