Former Chandler City Councilman and East Valley businessman Martin Sepulveda has formed a political committee to run for Arizona Treasurer next year.
Sepulveda formally filed the campaign committee with the Arizona Secretary of State’s office on Aug. 29. He is also CEO of Sepulveda Group Inc., a site selection and real estate project management firm.
Also: Arizona Department of Gaming Director Mark Brnovich, who is considering a run for attorney general, resigned his position, clearing the way for a possible Republican primary challenge to embattled Attorney General Tom Horne.
In a resignation letter to Gov. Jan Brewer on Tuesday, Brnovich said his resignation would be effective Sept. 20. Brewer appointed him to the position in 2009.
