An exchange of Mohave County land between a mining company and the Bureau of Land Management will be discussed Monday by the county supervisors.
Proposed is the Ray Land exchange between ASARCO, LLC and the BLM with most of the private land located in Mohave County. In the exchange, ASARCO would receive about 10,976 acres of land in Pinal County outside of Casa Grande. The BLM would receive about 7,304 acres of land in total with 6,984 aces of that land in Mohave County.
The land in the county is mostly in remote areas with some of the land near or within a wilderness area. The land in Mohave County is located near the Mount Tipton Wilderness area, next to the Warm Springs Wilderness area, along the Big Sandy River with the largest amount off Alamo Road in the McCracken Mountain parcels near the Aubrey Peak Wilderness area.
