The community of Paradise Valley is beginning to debate the pros and cons of allowing a new land-use designation within its borders.
The new land-use — coined Continuing Care Retirement Community — would allow senior-living facilities to be built and operated within Paradise Valley town limits.

Paradise Valley Town Council last Thursday discussed the merits of the proposed land-use designation and pending major General Plan amendments on the table.
The Paradise Valley Planning Commission last July discussed two applications seeking both a major General Plan text and map amendments — allowing the new zoning criteria to be created — and a pending amendment to use the new land-use designation for a 4.34-acre parcel at the northwest corner of Scottsdale Road and McCormick Parkway.
