The Tohono O’odham Nation’s housing authority received a $2.75 million federal grant to address family-housing needs.

The housing authority — Tohono O’odham Ki:Ki Association — will contribute $850,000 in matching funds, which will bring the total to $3.6 million.

“This award represents a major step forward in addressing the significant housing needs of the O’odham,” said Ned Norris Jr., the nation’s chairman.

The tribe’s annual U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development allocation is $4.9 million.
