The ViaWest Group, (Gary Linhart and Steven Schwarz Managing Directors) have filed with the City of Phoenix for a General Plan Amendment and Rezoning on 10.55 and 15.17 acres respectively just east of the southeast corner of 59th Avenue and McDowell Road in the West Valley for what they are calling a “Mixed-Employment Campus”. The site, which currently consists of vacant buildings formerly used for a charter school, is located near a planned future light rail station at 59th Ave & McDowell as well as a potential intersection of a future Loop 202 freeway extension. The case was heard by the Phoenix Planning and Zoning Commission on September 10th. A land use map and illustrative architectural character photos were included in the exhibit and shown here.
