The Arizona Cardinals are a party to a recent California court ruling that is part of watershed changes in workers’ compensation claims for professional athletes.

Thousands of pros have been filing workers’ comp claims in California in recent years, aiming to take advantage of that state’s more liberal rules and statute of limitations. They cite the fact they have played games or practiced in California, even though their team or residence is in another state.
