Arizona Treasurer and former Cold Stone Creamery CEO Doug Ducey has the early head start in the 2014 Republican primary for governor.
Ducey has lined up some key business, political and conservative backing including some top CEOs and GOP fundraisers. Ducey is bringing together some Greater Phoenix Leadership types as well as social conservative and anti-tax advocates into his early camp.
The race has a long way to go and Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett and other GOP candidates will have something to say as will likely Democratic nominee Fred DuVal.
But two of Ducey’s potential rivals are still either getting their footing in the race or deciding whether to get in the contest at all.
