Scottsdale-based Meritage Homes Corp. posted a 44 percent increase in its third-quarter revenue because of gains in both sales and prices, despite a slight slowing in home building across Arizona and nationally.
The homebuilder reported home-sales revenue of $483,147 for the three months ended Sept. 30. That compares with $334,880 for the same period in 2012. The company’s higher revenue this year stems from an 18 percent increase in home sales and a 22 percent jump in the average price of homes sold.
The average sales price of a Meritage home reached $365,000 during 2013’s third quarter.
