Two vacant Chandler lots slated for commercial development are moving forward as residential projects.
Chandler’s Planning and Zoning Commission on Oct. 2 voted unanimously to support the projects.
One proposal would bring housing to an area near Chandler Municipal Airport. La Esquina would be built on about 15 acres at the northwestern corner of Gilbert and Ocotillo roads. The gated subdivision would include about 79 lots of at least 4,000 square feet. One- and two-story homes are expected to range from about 1,400 to 2,500 square feet.
Eighteen housing plan options were provided, offering multiple architectural and elevation styles, according to documents provided to the commission.
The community would feature landscaped entries, open space, a playground and community pool.
