D.R. Horton, Shea Homes and Standard Pacific Homes have long been the active players in Belfiore Real Estate Consulting’s South Buckeye submarket, but that is quickly changing. With plentiful lot supply and attractive first-time buyer price points, more builders are jumping into the mix. LGI Homes was the first new builder to enter the market at its Blue Hills Community back in January 2013. Scott Communities will soon open at its Miller Park subdivision (SWC Miller Rd and Southern Ave). Lennar just opened at its long time mothballed community, Blue Horizons (Jackrabbit Trail and Yuma Rd). D.R. Horton is also adding to the number of open shops with two new product lines at the Sundance MPC (Yuma Rd and Dean Rd). As resale prices continue to rise, Belfiore Real Estate Consulting believes peripheral markets such as South Buckeye and Maricopa will continue to experience strong builder growth.
