By Carolyn Dryer | The Glendale StarAlthough the crowd was sparse at the Nov. 7 Glendale Planning Commission workshop, more people are expected to attend a Dec. 5 public hearing on the subject matter: billboards. About 30 to 40 people attended the workshop, but just three individuals answered questions from commission members. Glendale Planning Director Jon Froke and Senior Planner Karen Stovall gave a historical and planning perspective, while Jordan Rose, representing Becker Boards, explained her client’s reasoning for selecting the site at Bell Road and Loop 101 to erect 80-feet-high static billboards.
Three City of Peoria employees also attended the workshop: Director of Government Affairs John Schell, Community Development Director Chris Jacques, and Communications Director Bo Larsen.
