Bank of America reportedly is in settlement talks with Freddie Mac in an effort to end disputes over more than $1.4 billion in faulty mortgages that Freddie Mac says BofA should have to take back, the Wall Street Journal reported.
It would be the second such deal between BofA (NYSE: BAC) and Freddie Mac since 2011, the Journal said, and would mostly shield the bank from future repurchase demands from Freddie Mac on any loans sold before 2012.
