The unofficial census-day enrollment count for the fall 2013 semester at the Maricopa Campus of Central Arizona College has witnessed full-time student equivalencies jump 60.4 percent and overall head count by 40.5 percent.
The increase is based upon comparisons to 2012 fall enrollment figures that were calculated when CAC was operating out of a pair of small storefront facilities in a shopping center along John Wayne Parkway.
“When the residents of the city of Maricopa and the Ak-Chin Indian Community requested we explore building a CAC campus in their area, we responded by researching the options and providing the community with a solid plan to grow and to serve students,” Doris Helmich, the president and CEO of CAC, said. “The city of Maricopa and the Ak-Chin Community provided unwavering support for approval of the 2008 general obligation bond initiative and today we have a vibrant campus that epitomizes western Pinal County.”
