A cherished place of local worship, compassion and rejuvenation is gearing up for a complete renovation of its 25-acre property in the heart of Paradise Valley in an effort to accommodate the center’s growing flock.
“I love this town, and I love what it stands for,” said Charlie Brown, Franciscan Renewal Center general manager and chief executive, Nov. 18 at the worship center. “We are shocked by how far and where the people come from. We have become a regional center.”
The Franciscan Renewal Center, which has existed since 1951, has plans to completely renovate and expand the center’s existing facilities, including the construction of a new church allowing for more than double the amount of patrons, according to Tara La Bouf, a spokeswoman for the Franciscan Renewal Center.
