Glendale officials have been working behind the scenes to repair the rift between the city and the National Football League before the 2015 Super Bowl, but little progress has been made.
Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee executives canceled a planned dinner meeting today among Glendale officials and NFL decision makers who were scheduled to be in town this weekend to tour venues for Super Bowl-related events.
Host-committee executives specifically told Glendale officials that they called off the dinner because NFL executives felt that there are unresolved issues with the city, said Julie Frisoni, interim assistant city manager.
Glendale officials and venue operators are distressed that they won’t get one-on-one time with NFL event planners, Frisoni said.
