The transfer of the Greasewood Flat property in north Scottsdale is in the works, but questions remain about the fate of the commercial business on the site, the residents of the property and the future of the George Cavalliere Trust.
Approximately 43 acres at Alma School Parkway and Pinnacle Vista Drive, land that includes the iconic restaurant and bar and the now-closed Reata Pass Steakhouse, was awarded to Taylor Morrison Homes. The Scottsdale company entered the bidding toward the end of a court process held to resolve about $2.5 million in debts owed by a trust set up after Cavalliere’s death.
Taylor Morrison, with a bid of $185,000 an acre, outbid Sonora West Development for the land, considered prime Scottsdale property nestled in the McDowell Mountain foothills.
