Developer Jack Matthews has sold a 55-acre tract of land in The Tribute Lakeside Golf & Resort, a 1,600-acre master-planned community in The Colony, to Meritage Homes.
Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
“This is a rare deal for us,” Matthews told the Dallas Business Journal, in an exclusive interview. “On our side, we probably drove them a little bit crazy until we were comfortable with their designs. It’s a big thing to bring someone into your community.”
This is the first time the developer has sold a tract of land within The Tribute, which is highly controlled to protect the investment of homeowners.
