The company proposing to develop North America’s largest copper mine near Superior is poised to submit its plans for the operation to the federal government.
Resolution Copper Co. intends to present its plan to the U.S. Forest Service on Friday, after offering a preview to area residents at a town-hall meeting today in Superior.
The plan will give the first in-depth look at how the company would mine the ore, dispose of residue and other waste, and bring water to the site — if Congress approved a crucial land exchange.
A House vote on the land swap could come this month and as early as this week, after which it would head to the Senate.
