Tempe makes cut as top 10 creative midsize city

Good news for fans of easy commutes and bright ideas — midsized cities are full of creative types, too and Tempe is one of them.

Real estate blog Movoto.com ranked the East Valley city 10th on its list of most creative midsized cities.

Among the criteria used were (per capita) art-supply stores, galleries, bookstores and higher-learning institutes.

Salt Lake City came in at No. 1, followed by Pasadena, Calif. Other Western cities were: 5. Torrance, Calif.; 6. Fort Collins, Colo.; and 8. Eugene, Ore.
